EndorMedia Shopper is a modular application that allows you to have complete control over your site's "look and feel" and over its performance. You can easily configure it to satisfy your needs, even if you only have basic computer knowledge.

The only elements that might require time investment are:

1. Look and Feel: you may prefer to give the application your personal touch. You can do that easily by replacing all images and the default style sheet (all stored in a single directory). You may also modify the standard page design by simply
• Replacing the standard upper navigation bar from text-based tabs to image-based tabs (an image for each tab — as in the navigation bar in this site, for example)
• Changing the navigation bar from horizontal to vertical
• Replacing the top banner from text to an image (as in this site, again)
• etc.
2. Merchant Account and Payment Options: The Standard Edition includes 5 payment options that you can offer your site's visitor: credit card charge with real-time transactions; credit card charge with manual processing; wire transfer; via fax; by check. If you wish to allow your site's visitors to buy your products using their credit cards, you will need a merchant account, which you can set up at your local bank or with specialized services (such as VeriSign's PayFlow, Authorize.Net, PenPal, etc.). Shopper allows you to choose whether to process credit card transactions in real time (usually preferred by software vendors) or process transactions manually after collecting credit card data. The default real-time credit-card processing is through VeriSign's PayFlow, but you may edit and compile the included source code to work with any other service. General editing and compiling instructions are included.
3. Shipping & Handling Calculation: The Standard Edition includes shipping calculations for 3 shipping companies - your local postal service, UPS and FederalExpress. You can choose to offer your customers only one of these, or all three. Shipping & Handling fees for all three are set in database tables, which the application allows you to edit. Alternatively, you may want to query your shipper's database in real-time during order placement. To do that, you may edit and compile the included source code for using the UPS online service. General editing and compiling instructions are included.
